Leone 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley

Colour: Rich red with youthful hues
Aroma: Dense forest berry fruits with oak spice nuances and minty notes.
Palate: Flavours of blackcurrant follow through to the palate, which is perfectly matched to spicy oak from small percentage of new medium toasted barrels. The balanced tannins and fruit weight result in a gratifying length of flavour.
Wine: The 2015 vintage provided wines with structure and power. Low yields and even vineyard ripening provided great flavour depth and some firm prominent tannins which have softened during oak maturation. This stylish blend makes an impressive companion for grilled T-bone & Fillet mignon.
Winemaking: The grapes for this wine are grown on the Estate vineyards in the Barossa Valley. Single wire trellising, low cropping level and an ideal ripening season allowed the grapes to mature to their optimum ripeness. This wine is barrel selected from our best parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented at 25 – 28c, twice daily rack and returns into open vats increases the oxygen contact and extraction during fermentation. Optimum skin contact ensures length and structure on the palate.
